Choosing Between Massage Therapy Schools
Choosing between massage therapy schools can be difficult for some. It is often best to analyze your personal needs when deciding which of the massage therapy schools would be best for you.
You need to consider factors such as the cost of tuition, location, strength of the massage classes, reputation of the school, networking opportunities and more. It may make sense to visit many of the different massage therapy schools websites and compare these different factors before you make a decision on which ones you want to apply to.
In my opinion, any massage therapy school that does not have full accreditation is not a good choice. It would probably be a waste of money to pay for the tuition and graduate only to find out that your degree will not help you get a job because that massage therapy school was not fully accreditation.
Another point is, do not let the cost of tuition be the only deciding factor. Think of the tuition costs as an investment in your future. If you find that the best school is also the most expensive you may still want to consider that school. You can always apply for loans and grants to help you cover the costs of tuition. This investment in your education will pay big dividends on down the road in your career path.

I really disagree with selecting out massage schools that do not have full accreditation.
But then it really depends on how you plan to work. If you plan to get employed at a spa or clinic, off course you need accreditation.
However, if you manage to set up your own business, then accreditation is not really that important. I was trained privately by people who have been working in the field for decades and I profitied a great deal from their expertise. All this experience that can be passed on in such a setting is invaluable.
For me, really what is a deciding factor when choosing where I get training is: I get a massage from the teacher. Everyone can distinguish between a good massage and a mediocre massage when he gets it.
I recieved massages from very well trained people, with Dr. med. titles and more, and some of these were just disappointing. They may carry a lot of knowledge in their heads, but they can't transfer it into their practice. And then I recieved excellent massages from people who did never go through any kind of official training and just have been doing massage for many years and they were doing amazing work.
However, off course I also recieved excellent massages from well-trained people and I know that the european school of osteopathy in england for example really gets impressing results in terms of what students are able to do after their trainings.
But as I said: before I enroll in any kind of school, I just call them and tell them I am thinking about to enroll, but in order to make that decision I need to get a massage from the teacher first (which of course I'm paying for).
